A-FRANK builds on the engineering and plastics expertise represented by the FRANK Group, whose roots date back to 1965.

On 1 January 1965, Philipp Frank established an engineering office in Mörfelden-Walldorf. The original focus was planning and design for pipeline and apparatus construction.
When systems available on the market could no longer meet the growing requirements of the gas, utility and chemical industries, Philipp Frank began developing his own products.
He recognised the potential of polyethylene at an early stage. PE made it possible to produce pipes that were corrosion-resistant, weldable, fracture-resistant and highly resistant to chemicals.

The early adoption of polyethylene opened the way to pipes that combined corrosion resistance, weldability, fracture resistance and high chemical resistance.
FRANK went on to supply the first PE pipes for natural gas supply in Germany. Injection-moulded PE butt-weld fittings, welding technology and plastic fittings soon expanded the product range.
PE and PP systems subsequently became established across many fields of application, supporting FRANK’s development as a major European system supplier.

Planning and design for pipeline and apparatus construction formed the starting point for FRANK’s development.
New PE products were developed when existing systems could no longer satisfy increasingly demanding applications.
Partnerships, specialist companies and production expansion strengthened FRANK’s technical and manufacturing capabilities.
New companies, facilities and partnerships extended FRANK’s experience and presence across European markets.
