A-FRANK FTW® systems made of durable, environmentally friendly polyethylene enable the source collection and safe storage of drinking water. Configurable FTW® modules — produced through the coiled tubing process — allow tubular storage tanks up to DN 3500, with commissioned capacities exceeding 1,200 m³.
Factory pre-assembled modules keep site weight low and assembly times short, while the smooth PE internal surface minimises incrustation and simplifies cleaning. Beyond drinking water storage, the PE tubular tanks can also be used for fire-fighting water, and resistant PE linings (HydroClick® ) are available for new construction and concrete water tank renovation.
Drinking water passes through several stages on its way from the source to the consumer. Depending on the system used, the water is collected in a spring water collection chamber or source collection well, given a rough cleaning and fed into an underground storage reservoir. The FTW® system covers all of these areas and consists of three modules — the spring water collection chamber, the underground water chamber and the controls and instruments chamber. The modules are adapted to individual project requirements and can be assembled quickly and easily.
The individual source infeeds are collected in separate chambers in the spring water collection chamber and brought together in a collecting basin, where a stilling basin extracts sand.
The drinking water is collected and stored in the underground reservoir, generally built as a horizontal tube made of polyethylene (PE) and equipped with supply, removal, emptying as well as overflow, air and ventilation systems. An FTW® pressure door made of PE provides access to the lighted reservoir, and an inspection glass allows the stored drinking water to be checked.
The controls and instruments chamber is directly connected to the water chamber and contains all shut-off valves, electrical switchboards and air filters. Optionally, pressure-boosting and water processing equipment can be built in.
