Product Description
FRANK geothermal probes are made of high-quality PE 100-RC (Resistant to Crack) polyethylene and are supplied pre-assembled to length as duplex probes (double U probes). The probe base is permanently connected to the probe pipes on specially developed automatic welding machines.
The probe base is a moulded component developed specifically for geothermal applications, with flow deflection and without cross-sectional constriction. This design keeps the full cross-section available and makes the probe piggable. Welding is carried out by DVS-certified welders, and an individual probe certificate is available for every probe.
Probe base and probe pipes are made of polyethylene PE 100-RC, black according to PAS 1075, in SDR 11 or SDR 9. The pipes carry a metre marking for documented installation depth, and the material is approved for sand bed-free installation.

Piggable probe base
The probe base is a moulded component developed specifically for geothermal applications, with flow deflection and no cross-sectional constriction. The full cross-section therefore remains available and the probe is piggable.
Manufacturing and quality assurance
The probes are factory-welded on specially developed automatic welding machines by DVS-certified welders. Production follows SKZ guideline HR 3.26 (SKZ certificate no. A 466 / A 803) as factory-welded geothermal probes in accordance with VDI 4640; welding follows the DVS guidelines. An individual probe certificate is available for every probe.
Material and installation
Probe base and probe pipes are made of polyethylene PE 100-RC, black according to PAS 1075, in SDR 11 or SDR 9. “RC” stands for Resistant to Crack, and the material is approved for sand bed-free installation. The pipes carry a metre marking for depth documentation.
